Meet Our Dancers

Born in 1991 in Kimberley in the Northern Cape, Otsile started dancing in 2005 with the group Splaka Velli, which won the Northern Cape’s Got Talent Competition. He performed on stages including “Step Up or Step Out”, “Masters of Rhythm” and “South Africa’s Got Talent”. His main genre was hip hop but when he was introduced to contemporary dance in 2013 he knew he had found his calling. He worked at the Mayibuye Dance Academy in the Northern Cape and was offered an opportunity to audition for Moving into Dance Mophatong and is currently part of the professional dance company.
Otsile has performed at the Maloof World Skate Boarding Cup 2013, Stepping Stones 2013 and the Dance Umbrella. He performed at Impact No.2 and in Sunnyboy Motau’s “We are still Marching” at the Playhouse in Durban. He performed “Triumph” at the Edudance Schools Programme; “Of Hounds and Men” at UJAC, at the Sanlam Road Show; and during the Chinese/South Africa Collaboration, the Jägermeister Promotion, and Hilton Schools Festival.
His choreography includes: “Battle Field”, “Transform You”, “Jive March”, “Violence My Foot”, “Triumph”, “Take A Knee”, “For Now”, “Rain Dance”, “Street Dance”, “My African Beauty (Afro Fusion)” and “Gum Boots”. During his third year at MIDM, Otsile performed his own work “Nix Race” at Dance Explosion.
At the start of 2017 he performed at the Dance Umbrella in Sunnyboy Motau’s “I Am NoT” and Oscar Buthelezi’s “Stuck Souls”.
