Meet Our Dancers

Born in Upington in the Northern Cape, Sussera’s passionate journey with the art of dance began at school. She continued her dance career in Latin American with Willem Burger, performing around the Northern Cape. Sussera joined Natasha Zealand School of Dance where she studied Contemporary and Spanish Dance. In 2010, Sussera began studying with Lizelle Julie at Lacaca`s School of Dance, a Spanish school where she co-taught contemporary dance.
In 2013 Sussera auditioned for the first year programme at Moving into Dance Mophatong and was thereafter accepted into the second and third year programmes.
Sussera was selected to perform in a Gregory Maqoma’s choreographic piece live on SABC 1 for a local hip pop artist, Ifani. She also performed in Alfred Hinkel’s extraordinary “Bolero”, part of Impact No.1 staged at the Joburg Theatre. This performance by MIDM was part of a collaborative event of 3 dance companies and 30 dancers on one stage.
Sussera was invited to join the MIDM Professional Dance Company in 2017. She was selected to train and work on MIDM’s Project Enable through Dance – a Disability Project,where she has also excelled.
