Letele began dancing in 2003 at PACOFS Artistic Development (PAD). In 2009 he was selected to study for the Training Course (PATC) at MIDM. He received a bursary from the CITY Festival as one of the winners in the dance category in 2009.
Letele was part of the group that won an award for the Pick of the Stepping Stones Program at Dance Umbrella in 2010. He performed at the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Concert and the Closing Ceremony, the North West School’s Festival and in “Threads”- by Sylvia Glasser and poetry by Lebo Mashile, and toured extensively with Robyn Orlin’s “Beauty Remained…” In 2013 he worked with choreographers Sonia Radebe and Jennifer Dallas. Letele was part of the MIDM team performing in Jerry Mofokeng’s musical production, “Ma Brrr”, a tribute to singer Brenda Fassie.
He performed in “Ngizwise” at the Jomba Festival in Durban 2014 and Dance Umbrella 2015 and took part in Sunnyboy Motau’s “Man-Longing” and “Silent Departure”. He worked on “Hotel”; a new piece choreographed by Mark Hawkins and was featured in Fana Tshabalala’s “Fractured”. At the start of 2017 he performed in Sunnyboy Motau’s “I Am NoT” and Oscar Buthelezi’s “Stuck Souls” at the Dance Umbrella Festival 2017. In 2016 he had an opportunity to work for a TV programme on SABC 2 called “Keeping score”.
Letele is now involved in creating music for MIDM’s works. He teaches in Soweto and has run choreography workshops in the Free State. His choreography “Keshwa kataba” was selected for screening at the Boda Boda Dance Film Festival.
